History About The Foundation
The Weld RE-4 Education Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that was founded in April 2013 by a group of passionate community supporters of our schools. Though the Foundation is a separate legal entity from the Weld RE-4 school district, it works in close partnership with the district to provide more of the technology and other tools needed to prepare our students for an ever-changing world. The Foundation strives to foster innovation and collaboration in our classrooms, and in its first five years raised over a million dollars thanks to the efforts of our hard-working volunteers and our very supportive Windsor-Severance community.
Because our Foundation is volunteer-driven, much of the monies raised in any given year are directly invested back into schools. Since its creation, the Foundation has funded over 900 additional Chromebook computers, as well as 3D printers, robotics and other science equipment, digital cameras, sewing machines, musical instruments, video production cameras, art tools and much, much more. The Foundation has also supported teacher appreciation activities and scholarships for graduating high school seniors.
It is an understatement to say the Foundation has had a huge impact on the opportunities provided to our Weld RE-4 students — but there is still much more to do as our district continues to grow and technology continues to evolve. You can be part of our efforts by attending one of our events, donating to our cause, or volunteering. Contact us at education_foundation@weldre4.org to find out more.
